Статтю присвячено проблемі співвідношення між чинником політичної залежності православної церкви та дифузією релігійної ідентичності як обставини, яка уповільнює процес модернізації. Авторкою зроблено висновок про те, що Проект єдиної Помісної церкви не можна вважати
високорейтинговим і популярним, оскільки рівень його підтримки не перевищує чверті парафіяту, чисельність якого зросла в межах 10 %. Дискусія у відповідних середовищах відбувається синхронізовано із зміною юрисдикції парафій із їх поступовим переходом до УПЦ Київського патріархату. Цей процес активізувався з 2014 року і перебуває в фазі плавного зростання.
Medviedieva Yu. Diffusion of religious identity in Ukrainian Orthodoxy: Social modernization in the project of the Unified Local Church. The article is devoted to the problem of correlation between the factor of political dependence of the Orthodox Church and the diffusion of religious identity as a circumstance that slows down the modernization process. The author concluded that the project of a single local church can not be considered highly rated and popular, since the level of its support does not exceed a quarter of the parafiata, the number of which has increased within 10%. Discussion in appropriate environments is synchronized with the changing jurisdiction of the parishes with their gradual transition to the UOC-Kyiv Patriarchate. This process has intensified since 2014 and is in a phase of smooth growth. Consequently, while maintaining this trend, the UOC’s modernization vector will include the following institutional changes. First, there will be a process of actual incorporation of the parishes by the Kyiv Patriarchate. Secondly, in the society itself, against the backdrop of the escalation of separatism, the growth of xenophobic attitudes towards Russian Orthodoxy will lead to its progressive peripheralization and confessional marginalization. This will contribute to the disappearance of the blockades towards the implementation of the project of unification of churches and the creation of a single local church.
